Directions to Field View Wellness Centre

It may well help if you zero / reset your car's trip as you leave, or cross, the A12 at ** below:-

Travel along the A12 to the southern approach to Colchester, (fairly close to Sainsbury’s at Stanway). Turn off the A12 at junction 26 **, away from Colchester and onto the A1124, which is signposted “Halstead”. (This was until recently numbered the A604, so your atlas may well show that instead! - do NOT take the opposite direction signposted Colchester / Stanway / Mersea). Travel along the A1124 in a north-westerly direction towards Halstead. At 0.2 miles, you enter “Eight Ash Green / 30 mph”, and pass the left turn to “The Holiday Inn” hotel. Take the second exit at this roundabout (slightly to the right & signposted A1124 Halstead). You then pass the Eight Ash Green Dental Surgery on your right (at 0.4 miles). Do not turn right here to Fordham Heath, but keep straight ahead, and pass the Eight Ash Green village green and its village sign on a pole on your left (at 0.7 miles).

Just before an “Esso” filling station on your left (at 0.9 miles), you will see signposts on your left. These point right and indicate “Wormingford Airfield - 3½ miles” and “Fordham – 2 miles”. Turn right at these signs into Wood Lane. Follow this road, which then veers sharply left (at 1.1 miles). You pass speed delimiter signs as you leave the village at 1.3 miles, you then pass “Fiddlers Farm” on your left at 1.5 miles, the road goes downhill (with a wood on your left) and crosses over the River Colne (at 1.8 miles). It then climbs uphill, with a sharp bend to the right (1.9 miles), and you will pass the sign “Welcome to Fordham / 30 mph” on your left and Fordham village school on your right (at 2.3 miles).

You will then pass the parish church with tower on your left, and the “Three Horseshoes” public house (at 2.4 miles), also on your left. Continue through the village, with houses on your left and a hedge & fields on your right. You will pass Ponders Road and “Fordham Village Stores,” both on your left (at 2.8 miles), and then the village green with its Fordham village sign on a pole on your left (2.9 miles). Keep straight ahead and you will pass, on your right (at 3.0 miles), an old-fashioned white “finger” signpost indicating two minor roads– one to your left to “Chappel” and one to your right to “West Bergholt”. Keep straight ahead as indicated to “Mount Bures & Sudbury”.

“Field View” is the sixth house on your left (at 3.2 miles). There is a pair of acorns on low brick pillars, a willow tree hanging over a low brick wall covered in ivy, and there is a nameplate on the right-hand pillar. The property has red brick on the ground floor, and cream rendering on the first floor, and the drive is cobbled. There is a double garage with copper beech up-and-over doors. Please park on the drive – there is plenty of car parking and feel free to park in front of the garage doors. I would recommend that you reverse into the drive so that you can drive straight out as you leave.

From previous clients’ experience, if you are relying on a Sat Nav using the postcode, please do bring the map with you as well. The description of the house will help you turn into the correct drive!
